The function of the cross axis:

When the car is running straight, the resistance on the drive wheels on both sides is basically equal. The planetary gears in the differential only rotate with the cross shaft (not rotate), pushing the side gears on both sides to drive the two half shafts to rotate at the same speed. Because the outer end of the half shaft is fixed on the wheel hub, the two driving wheels on the wheel hub also rotate at a constant speed. When the car turns, or when the drive wheels on both sides receive different resistance from the ground, through the action of the differential, the torque formed by the resistance is transmitted back to the side gear through the half shaft, forcing the planetary gear to rotate around the cross axis, forming the inner wheel speed. Slows down and the outside wheel speed increases, resulting in the drive wheels on both sides rolling along the ground at different speeds.
