Working principle of Bevel Gear

The steering gear is composed of mechanical part and hydraulic part.

Briefly describe the mechanical principle: the steering force applied on the steering wheel is transmitted to the input shaft (valve core) in the steering screw assembly through the steering transmission shaft. Through the ball screw pair between the steering screw and the steering nut, the left and right rotary motion of the input shaft and the steering screw is transformed into the reciprocating linear motion of the steering nut; Then, through the rack tooth fan pair between the steering nut and the output shaft, the reciprocating linear motion of the steering nut is transformed into the forward and reverse rotation of the output shaft, and the steering arm (vertical arm) swings back and forth, so as to realize the left and right steering of the vehicle through the horizontal tie rod system.

Hydraulic principle: the main components of automotive power steering hydraulic system include: power steering gear (rotary valve, oil cylinder), steering oil pump, oil storage tank and oil pipeline. In the left steering gear, when the steering wheel rotates to the right (clockwise), the high-pressure oil flows into the upper chamber of the oil cylinder (above the steering nut) through the control valve. The pressure in the upper chamber is greater than the pressure in the lower chamber, causing the steering nut to go down, which is consistent with the effect of the steering force on the steering wheel, so as to make the steering light and achieve the purpose of hydraulic power assistance.
